I always keep my promises:)
Finally an update. I really should try to blog more consistently.
Deja vu. I get the feeling I've said that before.
Hmmm
Well, back to the update on my life, for those in the know and those who want to know. This week has been really great, and the fun is not over yet. On Saturday Paul and I set out on a little road trip to Tonawanda NY, where we saw a free Blue Rodeo outdoor concert. That's right, I said free!:D woo hoo!
Opening for the big Blue was Leroy Townes & the Lonestars (freaking amazing) and Luke Doucete (equally amazing in a whole other way). The pics in Leroy et al's myspace are mostly from the show, so you can see how beautiful a day it was. Combine the heat of the setting sun with cheap (yet watery) American beer, along with some great music, and you have a very enjoyable evening.
Blue Rodeo rocked it our more than I've ever seen. Nearly their whole setlist was upbeat and up tempo, although at times it felt like it was because they were in a hurry to get off the stage. I am pleased to say that I got Jim to sing one of my favorite songs at the moment, After the Rain. I was only one person back from the front of the stage, and I managed to yell out my request in between songs (with the help of the cheap American beer of course). After yelling out my request twice, a lady in front of me turned around and sort of hissed "He doesn't play that song anymore."(well maybe she didn't hiss...I was half bagged at this point). Much to my surprise, right after she said this, Jim went into it. I think I had to wipe away a tear or two from the shock that a) he was playing my favorite song, and 2) that he was playing it for me.
sigh
I know, I'm a loser. But hopefully you all know by now that I love me some Blue Rodeo. And I love that Paul made me wait around their trailer so that I could once again get a pic with Jim:) Mmm.. Love ya Paul:)
So after much enjoyment in Tonawanda with Paul, Monday came around and the sister, mother and I went on another little road trip to Sudbury so as to visit my beautiful grandmother, a.k.a Memere. I hate that she lives so far away, and that I was only able to stay for three days. I miss her all the time, so it was nice to get down there, even though the visit was so short. We went shopping and out to dinner and I enjoyed some delicious memere food:P We also got to visit with my aunt and uncle and some cousins, so that was a treat too.
For pictures of these events, you can check out my MSN space as usual.
All of this brings me back home, and back to work, which is what I've been up to the past couple of days. (blech). Tomorrow I plan on having my ever so cool siblings over along with some friends, to partake of keggage, food and fun.
I'll be sure to post an update of aftermath sometime next week.
Until then, have an awesome weekend!!!
