A few items of business today.
First and foremost, a cyber hug for the loverly Kara way over in Korea.
"I listen to the wind, to the wind of my soul. Where I'll end up well I think only God really knows..." -Cat Stevens. I Miss You!
Second on my list is an account of the amazing Hawksley Workman concert that Tara and I went to on Monday night. Postponed in March due to illness, it was well worth the wait to see Hawksley on top of his game. The show started out with a few new songs from the new album. I'd say bout 2/3 of the show however was his older stuff, which made this Hawksley lover quite excited ( in many ways, but that's a whole other post). I sat in awe through the whole concert, mesmerized by his beautiful voice and talent. Even his digressions in between songs were witty and entertaining. He talked a lot, and I think the audience really loved it too. We managed to get third row seats, just off center, which was really cool, although it didn't allow for very good pictures, since there was not a lot of light. What I did manage though was a short video clip of his second encore. Hawksley came to the front of the stage, and sat with his banjo, sans microphones, and sang "We Will Still Need a Song". It was really cool. The side rows of the theatre got up and moved closer to the front of the auditorium so that there was a semicircle of people around him. It was really intimate, as you can see in the video, when the audience sang with him. There was a really frilly looking guy on the side of Hawksley swaying back and forth and clapping, but sadly, when I point to him in the clip, he's in shadow and you can't see him. Too bad, cause it was pretty funny. Here's the clip: ( it may take a minute to load. Mind the shakiness)
Also, pictures of our day leading up to the big event can be seen on my msn space as usual. Note the drinking in the alcove of an apartment complex. Tres classy.
Third on my agenda for the day: I am very excited to announce that my last mark has rolled in, and I am now officially elegible to graduate. Pomp and Circumstance will take place on Friday June 16th, complete with a cap and gown, as well as a rumoured chocolate fondue fountain. Mmmmm.
Well, I think that is it for today. The joy of Painting starts in about 5 minutes, so I shall be off:-) "Bye Bye, and god bless".

*Grrr. No matter what I try I can't get the video in sync with the sound.
